<p>&#8220;2008 Maquoketa Community Alumni Association Awards Scholarships&#8221;</p>
<p>Two $500 scholarships were awarded at the High School Scholarship Awards Event last spring by the Maquoketa Community High School Alumni Association (MCHSAA). Earning the graduating female scholarship was Michelle Eberhart, daughter of Joseph and Da Vonne Eberhart of Delmar, Iowa and the graduating male scholarship went to Justin Hayward, son of Mike and Chris Hayward of Maquoketa, IA.</p>
<p>This is the third year that these scholarships were awarded on academic achievement, community involvement, ability to show giving time and talent to others, awards and achievements, and overall writing ability through an essay sharing how their high school experience has helped them and how they might give back to their alma mater.</p>
<p>These scholarships are one way in which the MCHSAA gives back and promotes and life long relationship between the Alumni and Maquoketa Community School District.</p>
<p>The mission of the MCHSAA: &#8220;The mission of the Maquoketa Community High School Alumni Association is to encourage and continue to support a life-long relationship between the Maquoketa Community High School and its alumni and friends.&#8221;</p>
