Friday, December 11th , the Maquoketa High School Wrestling Club will honor Coach Jeff Tampir to recognize his induction into the Iowa Coaches and Officials Wrestling Association.
Wrestling fans, alumni, friends and supporters are encouraged to attend the Zimmerman Wrestling tournament. Right before finals, the team will award Tampir with a glass encased MCHS wrestling singlet and stand in honor of his career achievements. The singlet is sponsored by the Maquoketa Wrestling Alumni Club.
Tod Bowman, head coach for the MCHS Wrestling program , and former wrestler for Tampir says, “This is the opportunity for all of us to thank Tampir and honor his career. It’s an amazing career where success comes from the way he treats other people. It comes from the support of other coaches, the support of all his students he’s coached, his family and our entire community.”
After the tournament all are invited to join Coach Tampir and other wrestling alumni and supporters at the Decker Hotel & Restaurant Pub.
