Thank You Members!

Thanks to your support we’ve been able to accomplish many goals in 2008 – 2009.  As you renew your membership for the 2009-2010 year, be an advocate for MCSHAA, consider attending meetings, renew your membership, and recruit a new member.  And what’s new this year?  Lower membership rates!  Please assist in spreading the word as we build this successful alumni & friend’s membership.  (If you were a member in the past, many of you will receive this letter via postal mail with a return stamped envelop).

Did you know:

Membership in the MCHSAA (Maquoketa Community High School Alumni Association) is open to alumni and friends of MCHS.  The value added benefit of becoming a member is giving graduates and friends an opportunity to “give back” to their alma mater by providing scholarships, supporting alumni events to connect the past with the future, and this past year we purchased a brick to support the High School renovation.

Your membership is listed on the web site.  Again….new this year is lowered membership rates!  We’ve been successful in fundraising and want to expand our membership base.  For each brand new membership we’ll send you a free MCHSAA T-Shirt.  For those of you who are renewing your membership – you might already have this t-shirt or they will be available for $10.00 at the Homecoming Football game.  (We’ll also be giving many away as prizes.)

Events in 2009/2010 include:

• Special recognition at homecoming for the year of 1984 football players
• We’ll be hosting an Alumni Tent AT THE GAME, and an after party at the Decker Bar & Grill” – Friday, September 25^th   /  Maquoketa vs. Anamosa
• Alumni basketball tournament (including women’s volleyball tourney) on Saturday, November 28^th
• Two $500 scholarships awarded.  (This past year awarded to Megan Engel and Dillon O’Connell)

Please renew your membership by October 15^th.  The application is attached.  Visit the website often to learn of upcoming events and special messages.  “Together we can link the past with the future.”
